This primary source of shikargah design has been an inspiration to create the “vanasingaram’’ motif in Kanchipuram silks. “Vanasingaram” literally translates to ‘glory of the forest’ and shows how a variety of forms and figures, including trees, creepers, flowers, birds, animals are incorporated into a single pattern.
This is a Hand woven Green Kanchi silk saree with pure zari in copper threadwork throughout.
